Dreams: One Way God Communicates With Us

Dreams are one of the ways God communicates with us.

I believe strongly that if you have a genuine relationship with God and He gives you a dream, He will also give you the interpretation. I say this because it has happened to me many times. Understanding and applying these revelations is part of Kingdom principles for effective ministry, as clarity and obedience in what God communicates equip us to serve Him and others with precision and impact.

A Personal Experience

One day, God gave me a dream that would have seemed confusing to another person, but the meaning became clear to me immediately I woke up. I shared the dream and its interpretation with two people. Their responses made me laugh. This experience raises the question, does God still speak today?—reminding us that He continues to communicate with those who earnestly seek Him, using dreams, visions, and other means to guide and instruct.

At that time, I was interested in marrying a lady, and I took the matter to God in prayer. Not every issue I present to God comes with such a clear response, but this time it did. In the dream, the interpretation I received was simple: she was available, but there was a distraction in her life that might prevent her from giving me attention. When I told a friend about it, he concluded that the dream meant she was not my wife. I laughed. This experience taught me how God speaks through your spirit, guiding you with clarity and understanding that may not always align with others’ opinions or expectations.

Inner Confirmation

The message from the dream confirmed something I already sensed deep in my spirit — something that could not be found in black and white on the pages of the Bible, but was clear within me.

God can use dreams to bring clarity, direction, and confirmation when we walk closely with Him.
