The Word of God Is Powerful: You Don’t Need Special Revelation to Act on It.

The Word of God is as powerful as God Himself because you cannot separate a man from his word. If the strongest man on earth sends a message through someone, whether you believe what he said or not, his word still carries authority. In the same way, God’s Word carries His power. This is why How Faith and Obedience Unlock God’s Miracle is so vital—when we trust and act on God’s Word, we release the authority and power it contains to bring transformation and breakthrough in our lives.

The issue is not whether the Word works. The issue is whether we believe it enough to act on it. Do You Need “Revelation” Before the Word Works? I have heard many Christians make it seem as though you must first receive a special “revelation” of the Word before it can produce results in your life. Some call it rhema. Yes, there is a level of manifestation that comes with deeper revelation and understanding of God’s Word. But you do not need a special revelation before you can act on the Word and see results. This is closely tied to Why does God respond to His Word—because when we act in faith on what He has spoken, we align ourselves with His promises and activate His power in our lives.

If you are sick and need healing, you do not need a mystical experience before believing what Scripture says about healing. Believe the Word and act on it — your healing will come. How do I know? I have acted on the Word and received my healing. So I know from experience. If you come across any Bible passage that can be applied literally, go ahead and apply it in faith. You do not need a special revelation. You only need to believe.

When the Bible says, “Lay hands on the sick and they will recover,” He meant it. Lay hands in faith and they shall recover. When He said, “In My name they shall cast out demons,” He was saying that anyone who believes in Jesus has authority in His name. You do not need revelation for Scripture to work for you. What you need is belief. This is why it is so important to speak what you desire to see—declaring God’s Word with faith activates its power and brings your heart’s desires into alignment with His promises.

But Not Every Scripture Is Literal

There are Bible passages that should not be taken literally, or else you may get yourself into trouble. When the Bible says we shall tread upon serpents and scorpions and not be hurt, it is not inviting us to go and deliberately walk on dangerous creatures. That would be inviting trouble. However, if you are in an environment where there are physical serpents or scorpions and you accidentally step on one, you can stand on that Word in faith and believe for protection. Have Christians been bitten in such situations before? Yes — even my own dad has. Why? Because many Christians do not truly believe that Scripture. They live in fear of what they should not be afraid of.

So when a Bible passage is not meant to be taken literally, we must be wise enough to understand it properly. When the Bible says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you,” it is not asking you to walk on water like Jesus. It is assuring you that when you go through difficult times, God will be with you.

Faith Is Not Presumption

I have heard stories of someone who walked into a lion’s den believing he would not be hurt like Daniel — and the person died. Another person tried to walk on water like Jesus — and drowned.

That is presumption, not faith. The Bible was not written to show off or to boost our ego. It was written to build faith and guide us in truth. In many such cases, people want to prove to the world that they can do what was done in Bible days. That is not the purpose of Scripture. Having said that, no child of God should be eaten by a lion if he mistakenly comes in contact with one. Yes, read that again. This is why it is essential to wrap yourself in the Word, letting it guide, protect, and strengthen you rather than using it for show or self-glory.

You have authority, and you can speak in faith. But you should never see a lion and deliberately walk into its den thinking nothing will happen. That is testing God.

The Word Still Works Today

The Word of God is always true. It remains living and powerful when we dare to act on it. You do not need special revelation for the Word to work for you. You need to believe it and act on it. If special revelation were required before obedience, the Word would not have worked for Benson Idahosa when he took his bicycle searching for the dead to raise after hearing his pastor preach that believers could raise the dead. He simply believed what he heard and acted on it. If special revelation were necessary, I would not have been healed by standing on Isaiah 53:5.

Believe the Word.

Act on it.

And you are good to go.
