I Am Not Ordinary: A Powerful Testimony of Faith and Answered Prayer.

Sometimes, I sit down and reflect on many things that have happened to me—from the day I was born up until now—and my conclusion is simple: I am not ordinary.

I know that I will not die a careless death, no matter what happens, because I am not ordinary. This conviction does not come from pride, but from understanding what it truly means to be born again—recognizing who I am in Christ, the transformation of my spirit, and the reality of God’s hand upon my life.

Let me share a strange experience from my life with you.

One day, while I was in the university, we had a visitor. In those days, people often came to visit us as friends because we lived off campus. On this particular day, after the visit, we decided to see her off. We walked her to the roadside before returning home.

As we were walking back, I suddenly stepped on a nail. It pierced deeply into my leg, and we had to pull it out. The pain was intense—sharp and uncomfortable. At that moment, I began to wonder if I would even be able to attend lectures the next day.

In situations like this, many people would immediately think about tetanus infection and rush to take an injection. And to be clear, there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking medical precautions. However, I chose not to dwell on those thoughts. I have never been fond of injections, and up until that moment, I had lived without relying on drugs. This experience reminded me of how being born again changed everything for me—shifting my trust from human solutions to God’s protection and provision in every circumstance.

When I got home, I did something simple but powerful. I laid my hands on my leg and prayed. My prayer was not long or complicated. I simply asked God that this injury would not stop me from attending lectures the next day and in the days to come, in the name of Jesus.

After praying, I made a deliberate decision—I refused to focus on the injury. I completely forgot about it.

What happened next is what made me want to share this testimony.

When I woke up the following day, the pain was completely gone. Not reduced—gone. There was no trace of discomfort, no reminder of what had happened the previous day. Even more remarkable is this: the pain has never returned till today.

This experience reminds us to know what you received the day you became born again—healing, protection, and God’s power are part of your inheritance, and understanding these truths allows you to walk in victory over every challenge.

In fact, it was only days later that I suddenly remembered that I had stepped on a nail. It was as though the incident had been completely erased.

This experience reinforced a truth in my heart: God answers prayers.

If you are born again, you are not the same as everyone else. You are not ordinary. You are a new creation, empowered to live above limitations. The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

This means your life is not governed by ordinary rules alone—you have access to divine help.

However, one thing you must understand is this: you are only limited by your beliefs and your prayers. What you believe determines how you respond to situations, and how you pray determines the results you see.

This is closely connected to why Jesus said, you must be born again—because being born again transforms your spirit, renews your mind, and positions you to live with the authority, faith, and confidence that come from knowing who you are in Christ. So, never see yourself as ordinary. Walk in that consciousness, trust God, speak in faith, and act with confidence.

Because the truth remains: you are not ordinary.
